The All India Magazine, of Sri Aurobindo Society is a monthly publication which brings to the reader, Sri Aurobindo and The Mother’s thoughts on various topics related to spirituality, philosophy, and self-improvement. Each issue contains extracts from the works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother on specific topics such as fear, concentration, illness, sleep and dreams, meditation, ego, yoga, etc adapted from Their works including the epic poem – Savitri and reminiscences from Sadhaks who have been in close association with The Divine Masters at Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville in Pondicherry.

Auroville is a universal township in the making for a population of up to 50,000 people from around the world. The concept of Auroville – an ideal township devoted to an experiment in human unity – came to the Mother as early as the 1930s. In the mid 1960s the Sri Aurobindo Society in Pondicherry proposed to Her that such a township should be started.
Bhavani Bharati is Sri Aurobindo’s only poem in Sanskrit, written between 1904 and 1908. It has 99 verses mostly in the “Upajati” metre which is an apt choice for emoting heroism, power, anger, war. Confiscated by the Calcutta Police, this piece was rediscovered in 1985. The poem depicts the victory of the Shakti, the Mother of the nation, over Ignorance and Evil.
The Bhagavad Gita is one of the profoundest books of Indian spirituality. It is special in its structure of thought and in its language. It does not seek to confine itself to any one school or religious view but in fact, “there is a wide, undulating, encircling movement of ideas which is the manifestation of a vast synthetic mind and a rich synthetic experience… It does not cleave asunder, but reconciles and unifies.”
